Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

This is a naturally occurring puka, an opening in the volcanic rock wall, cliff or pali where pure water flows from the aquifers within Haleakalā.
This macro photograph was taken at an elevation of between 6000 and 7000 feet above sea level near Polipoli Trail near Waipoli Road in the Kula Nature Preserve in a protected area called Polipoli Spring State Recreation Area.
There are many nature trails here.

This beautiful nature preserve on the western slopes of Haleakalā consists of extensive trails systems, including through a deep forest reminiscent of the conifer forests of the Pacific Northwest coast on the mainland.
